Trade stock — this one lives in a toolbox, not a pool bag, sold as a 600 ft length. The tube is about 1 inch in diameter, with a solid core, moulded from polyethylene foam.
Colour on this listing is grey. Expansion joints, window perimeters and any gap too deep to fill with sealant alone The maker notes: Ideal Depth Control for Sealants: This foam rope acts as a precise depth gauge, ensuring proper joint dimensions for optimal sealant adhesion and flexibility without requiring a bond breaker.
Size the rod about a quarter wider than the gap, roll it in with a blunt tool so the skin stays intact, then tool the sealant over the top. Prices here follow the listing; the figure at the checkout is the one that counts

My husband is a taxidermist and uses this product for bird necks. It's wonderful to buy in bulk for him to keep at the shop.
I thought that the foam would easily compress into an uneven exposed aggregate joint. Umm, nope. Some of the box store brands are fairly flimsy and compresss to almost nothing, but not this. So it will get used around doors and windows on new construction projects, or used for hook and leaders for my tackle box. But I have a lifetime supply for sure.
